Children’s Community Chorus of Brooklyn

Children’s Community Chorus of Brooklyn is a secular after-school chorus,

The Chorus is open to all children ages 7 –
17, and is completely free of charge.
Currently, the Chorus is comprised of over sixty children who represent
a diverse mix of ethnicities, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds. Our objective is to bring the children of

during the school year (end of September – mid May), and the children perform a
wide range of music, from Broadway to contemporary hits to old-time rock and

Our primary goal is to bring out the best in every child that comes
through the door. This is accomplished
in a myriad of ways: by helping a member to overcome stage fright, by working
on the strength and quality of a student’s voice, or by giving leadership
positions to the oldest or most experienced members. Solos are given to any child who wants one,
not just to the most talented.
Former Chorus members have gone on to
attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) and have made it into
the vocal program at
The Chorus gives two different Concerts
each year, a Holiday Concert in
December, and a Spring Concert in
May. In addition to these Concerts, the
Chorus has performed at Community Thanksgiving Services, Senior Citizens’
homes, local festivals, and at various churches. The Chorus has been featured in different
newspapers and has appeared on television.
